Not the start they wanted it- but the Springfield Thunderbirds have kicked off their American Hockey League season with a pair of losses. Bridgeport beat the Thunderbirds 3-2 before a sellout crowd on Saturday night.
Then Sunday afternoon the Thunderbirds took on division rival Providence and lost 4-3 before alost 41 hundred people at The Mass Mutual Center.
Springfield hits the road versus the Laval Rocket on Wednesday night. That game will mark a re-match of the Eastern Conference Finals last year. A series that the Thunderbirds won.
Springfield will be back at The Mass Mutual Center on October 28th for a return battle with the Bridgeport Islanders.
