Governor Maps Out Bonding Plans For Development, Infrastructure

Governor Maura Healey was in Western Massachusetts on Thursday to publicly discuss the first two legislative proposals she has made since taking office earlier this month.

One of the proposals would allocate nearly one-billion dollars in immediate bonding for housing and economic development.

Healey also wants to have the state borrow 400-million dollars for road and bridge projects over the next two years.

In addition the Governor talked about high electricty rates throughout the state and the region.

She said she has sympathy for the people going through struggles because of the high prices and said the state would work to see if there is any way to keep prices down.

Healey spoke at the Ludlow Mills Complex and at Greylock Works in North Adams.
