It wasn’t the picture perfect way to make the Calder Cup playoffs but the Springfield Thunderbirds have punched their ticket.
Even though they lost to Lehigh Valley 4-3 Saturday night, they made the playoffs when Bridgeport lost to Wilkes Barre.
The Thunderbirds have three more games left.
They will all be at the Mass Mutual Center.
Now if the playoffs were to begin today, then Springfield would take on Hartford in the first round which is a best of three series.
