A new UMass/Amherst national poll finds that 42 percent of Americans agree that affirmative action in college admissions should be eliminated.
The poll in the walk-up to an expected US Supreme Court on the issue.
The poll also said that 33 percent of the people support continuation of the practice.
51 percent of progressives and 52 percent of African Americans support the practice.
On another issue- the poll also says that 41 percent of the more than 11 hundred people surveyed are in support of what the high court has done.
That is three points lower than the approval rating of President Biden at 44 percent.
