Springfield has recorded a sixteenth murder of the year. Police say a man was shot and killed late last night on Belmont Avenue.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Marengo Park for reports of a gunshot victim.
Police say the victim was found inside of a car.
A police spokesman says there have been no arrests and they have offered no motive.
