Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno led a rally on Monday to highlight efforts to suppress criminal activity.
Last week, Springfield and State Police and the Hampden County Sheriff's Department made a dozen arrests in the School Street area.
Sarno repeated a request he has made during his time in the mayor's office, asking the court system and its judges to keep "bad actors" locked up.
He says they are plaguing Springfield neighborhoods and hurting residents.
