Help For Flooded Out Farmers Coming

Governor Maura Healey's administration is announcing the availability of 15-million dollars in funding for Massachusetts farmers.

The money is being directed to those who were adversely affected by one of several natural disasters this year, including the February freeze, the frost in May, and flooding in July.

Healey says the climate crisis is here, and farmers are bearing the brunt of extreme weather.

To be eligible, farms must be a commercial operation selling products to wholesale or direct-to-consumer markets and have suffered at least a 15-percent acreage crop loss.
