The Boston Red Sox are parting ways with Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom.
Bloom oversaw the Red Sox roster during his almost four years in charge, including the trade that sent former MVP Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
During Bloom's tenure, the Red Sox made the ALCS in 2021, but also had two last-place finishes in their division.
Red Sox Owner John Henry said the move signifies a "new direction for the club."
The Sox got off to a start in that new direction as they shutout the Yankees in the first game of a double header 5-0.
