Lawmakers Seek Change In Carseat Laws

There's a proposal on Beacon Hill to require toddlers in Massachusetts under the age of 2 to sit in rear-facing car seats.

Supporters of the measure say younger children are more likely to escape serious injury in a crash if they in a rear-facing seat.

State law requires children under the age of 8 to be in federally approved car seats.

However, it does not stipulate the kind of seat required.
