A Ludlow man has been jailed on a homicide charge.
Police arrested Ethan Fitzgerald on Thursday, in connection with the shooting death of Dwayne Griffith in Springfield last August.
The 28-year-old Fitzgerald had a previous conviction for weapons charges in his criminal record, and at the time of Griffith's shooting was out on bail for two previous cases involving firearms.
Further, Fitzgerald was arrested in September on drug and weapons charges but was again freed on bail.
Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood criticized Fitzgerald's being able to receive bail under the circumstances.
Fitzgerald is now being held on no bail.
