A commercial solar farm project is set to be built in the Lenox Dale industrial corridor.
A zoning appeals board voted unanimously last week to approve the 7-point-5-megawatt project, despite several years of meetings and opposition from neighbors.
The solar farm will be placed on 12 acres, or less than one-third of a property in the 300 block of Housatonic Street.
The construction cost is estimated at 10 million dollars. The array will power up to 13 hundred homes with its connection to National Grid.
