The suspect in the killing of a woman and her eleven-year-old daughter in Worcester has been arrested in California.
Police say Dejan Belnavis was taken into custody yesterday near San Diego during a motor vehicle stop.
Belnavis and Karel Mangual are accused of killing Chasity Nunez and her daughter Zella on March fifth.
The suspects allegedly opened fire on the victims as they sat in a vehicle in the area of Lisbon Street and Edgewood Avenue, and both later died at the hospital.
D-A Joe Early says he thrilled with the dedicated police work that led to the arrest.
It is unclear when Belnavis will be brought back to the Commonwealth.
Mangual will be the subject of a dangerousness hearing later today.
