Chicopee To Debate Eliminating Single Use Plastic Bags

- Chicopee City Council members considered a measure that would ban plastic check-out bags.

Retailers would not be able to provide plastic bags to customers under the measure, as a means to eliminate waste and aid the environment.

A final vote has not been scheduled.

If approved, the ban would take effect in October, and include convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants.
