A Springfield man has been charged in the stabbing death of a woman in Holyoke early Sunday.
Police were called to the 200 block of Water Street at around 1:30 a.m., where they found the victim and the suspect,
2-year-old Jason Chapdelaine. Authorities say Chapdelaine had stabbed the victim and then tried to commit suicide with the same weapon.
His arraignment on a charge of murder will take place in District Court Tuesday.
City, county, and state police are continuing the investigation.
Meantime, in Springfield police there are continuing the search for suspects into a Phoenix Street fatal shooting late Friday.
Police have not suggested a motive and there have been no arrests.
