The state Senate is considering a bill that would make community college free to all Massachusetts residents.
The 118-million-dollar proposal is a small piece of the 58-billion-dollar state budget that will be unveiled by Senate leaders today.
The proposal calls for the state to cover tuition costs for all residents, with some people qualifying for up to 12-hundred-dollars for books and other supplies.
The program would be funded with money raised by the state's tax on its highest earning residents.
