State Police Rescue Suspect Who Fled Police By Jumping Into River

A suspect who fled from police was taken to a hospital after he ended up in the Connecticut River.

Friday night a Massachusetts State Police trooper in Holyoke stopped a vehicle for traffic violations, but the suspect backed into the police cruiser and took off.

The vehicle was found abandoned near Saint Kolbe Drive and the State Police Air Wing spotted the suspect along the bank of the river.

The suspect was injured and ended up struggling in the water so police hoisted him out of the river and took him to a hospital.

There has been no word yet on charges.
