The 4Run3 running store in East Longmeadow has declared bankruptcy and shut down.
Tim and Jill Murphy said there have been difficulties since the start of the COVID pandemic when they had to shut down for months and they took out loans, built an online store and opened up as soon as they could.
They said for awhile they thought they could make it, but rising interest rates resulted in higher monthly payments, operating expenses increased and the bills finally caught up with them.
The Murphy's say they financially lost everything and devastated, and thanked everyone who supported them.
