UMass commencement ceremonies are taking place this weekend and security precautions are in place in the event of any disruptive demonstrations.
The university recently called on police to dismantle a pro-Palestinian encampment on the campus after protesters refused to leave.
More than 100 people were arrested.
In a statement, UMass says it stands firmly by the rights of individuals to exercise their right to free speech but those rights do not extend to behavior that conflicts with the rights of others to take part in the program, whether as speakers or guests.
