Summertime Sales Tax Holidays Set

The dates for the annual sales tax holiday weekend in Massachusetts are now set.

The Legislature passed a bill that sets the dates for August 10th and 11th.

During that weekend consumers will be able to buy most items with a price tag under 25-hundred-dollars free of the state's six-and-a-quarter percent sales tax.

The tax must still be paid on items including motor vehicles, meals, liquor, tobacco and marijuana products.

Meantime, in Connecticut, the sales tax holiday is geared toward back to school shopping and is scheduled for one entire week beginning August 20.
