Summer Means More Travel And Spiking Covid Rates

Based on wastewater data the level of COVID in Massachusetts is considered moderate according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Wastewater surveillance is used as an early warning system because an increase in COVID levels usually comes before an uptick in confirmed cases.

In neighboring states the level is also moderate in Vermont, it's high in Connecticut and New Hampshire, and low in New York and Rhode Island.

Hospitalization rates from the CDC are not expected until October.
