A suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase through Hampshire County.
South Hadley Police Chief Jennifer Gundersen says her agency received a 9-1-1 call about a man who wanted to die by police and was threatening to take his own life yesterday afternoon.
The 25-year-old was eventually tracked down to the parking lot of the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School, where a perimeter was set up.
The man got into his car, taking officers through the town and into Hadley.
He is accused of hitting two cars before trying to run away on foot.
He was then arrested.
