Galvin Returns From Convention To Serve As Acting Governor

Secretary of State Bill Galvin is back in Massachusetts after leaving the Democratic National Convention in Chicago yesterday.

Galvin is next in line after Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll to serve as acting governor when Governor Maura Healey is out of state, and both are at the convention.

Galvin says he did not return home to make sure state Auditor Diana DiZoglio does not become acting governor.

He has served as acting governor under seven different governors, and says his experience in the role is why he returned home.

Meantime, the Secretary/Acting Governor will be making the rounds in Western Mass today making the case for early voting. It begins on Saturday.
