Two Springfield area Democrats are celebrating primary victories.
The primary for the 11th Hampden District was won by State Representative Bud Williams, and Adam Gomez won the race for his seat in the State Senate.
In the State Reps race, Williams beat Johnnie McKnight by 243 votes in what was a closer race than many expected.
Gomez took about 70 percent of the vote in defending his state senate seat. He is unopposed in the general election.
