State Treasurer Deb Goldberg says allegations of racially inappropriate comments led to the firing of the head of the Cannabis Control Commission.
Shannon O'Brien was fired by Goldberg this week after she had been suspended for months.
The reasons given for the firing are gross misconduct and an inability to discharge the powers and duties of the job.
O'Brien's attorneys are planning to challenge the firing in court.
