Mass General Brigham Warns Of IV Fluid Shortage

The warning is coming from Mass General. But it effects all hospitals in our area.

Mass General Brigham is warning of a shortage of intravenous fluids.

The health system warns that a company in North Carolina that is one of the nation's largest suppliers of IV fluids suffered damage to their factory from Hurricane Helene.

Baxter International makes 60 percent of the nation's IV solutions, producing well over a million bags a day.

Mass General Brigham sent a company wide email yesterday urging employees to conserve fluids.
