The Pittsfield Police Department is mourning the death of an officer.
Chief Thomas Dawley announced yesterday that Officer Michael Silver died unexpectedly. Officer Silver had served in law enforcement for 16 years.
Officer Silver briefly served with the Lee Police Department in 2015. Officer Silver was a certified MPTC Instructor in several areas.
Officer Silver received several letters of commendation, a Weapons Seizure Award recipient, along with a Drug Buster Award.
Dawley said the department would not be releasing any additional information about Silver's death.
