Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is calling on the U.S. Justice Department to take stronger action on gun violence in Springfield.
Warren joined other lawmakers in sending a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and the ATF requesting they do more to stop the flow of illegal firearms being trafficked into Massachusetts.
She noted that homicides in Springfield doubled in 2023 compared to 2022.
The ATF says Massachusetts has one of the highest rates of gun trafficking in the country.
