Holyoke Public Schools Looking To Exit Receivership By Next Fall

Holyoke Public Schools is looking to exit receivership by next fall.

In a meeting yesterday, the acting Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education said the district is on track to return to local control at the end of the school year.

Holyoke has been under state control since 2015 due to low performance at its schools.

Since then, graduation rates in the district have increased, while dropout rates and suspensions have declined.
