Massachusetts has joined over 20 other states in suing to block the Trump administration from defunding medical research.
Attorney General Andrea Campbell says Massachusetts is the medical research capital of the country, and they will not allow Trump to play politics with public health.
Campbell says Trump has violated federal law with the cuts, and they are seeking a court order to block his efforts.
She says the actions could result in the suspension of life saving clinical trials, the disruption of research programs and layoffs.
Meantime, Elon Musk who heads the DOGE Commission says that of the 35 billion dollars that was allocated last year- 9 billion was for administrative costs.
Under the Musk plan- administrative reimbursements would be capped at 15 percent.
