Republican Spencer state Senator Peter Durant says he will be deciding soon whether to run for governor next year.
Durant believes he could do a better job than Governor Maura Healey, and says the incumbent is vulnerable.
Durant says he has been speaking with other Republicans around the state as they work to determine who would be the party's best candidate.
Durant says it does not have to be him, and if a candidate emerges who is the right person for the job, he will support them.
