UMass Amherst Launches New Fund In Response To Possible Federal Cuts

U-Mass Amherst is announcing a new fund to ensure some research projects keep going if the university loses over 150-million-dollars in federal funding.

U-Mass officials say the Research Continuity Emergency Matching Fund is a short-term plan to replace grants at-risk of being cut by the Trump Administration.

The Department of Education is investigating the university over claims of antisemitic harassment and discrimination.

The department says U-Mass could lose federal funding if it doesn't do more to protect Jewish students.
