Western Mass School Districts Prepare For Funding Cuts

School districts in Western Massachusetts are reassessing their budgets following the Trump Administration's decision to cut over 100-million-dollars in federal funding.

Holyoke Public Schools officials say the loss in funds will likely impact the district's families in transitions program along with infrastructure projects on multiple campuses.

The money was allocated through the federal Education Stabilization Fund, which was terminated by the U.S. Department of Education last Friday.

Holyoke school officials say they are waiting on guidance from the state on how to proceed.
