Sarno, Other Mayors Make Case For Funding For Libraries

The Mayors of Springfield and Worcester, and 22 other mayors across the state are asking the congressional delegation to protect funding for libraries statewide.

The President signed an Executive Order last month that cuts funding to both libraries and museums through the Institute of Museums and Library Services.

That accounts for more than three and a half million dollars.

The mayors say that if funds are cut, then the educational impacts could be dramatically impacted.

The mayors call libraries an essential component of all communities.
