Senator Elizabeth Warren says President Trump's tariffs are hurting the U.S. economy.
Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" yesterday, the Massachusetts Democrat said the uncertainty around how the tariffs will be enforced is stopping companies from making investments.
This follows Trump's decision to exempt certain electronics from reciprocal tariffs on China, just days after he announced a 90-day pause on other global tariffs.
Warren, who serves on the Senate Banking Committee, also renewed calls for an investigation into possible insider trading, saying Trump may have committed a crime by telling allies to buy stocks shortly before announcing the tariff pause.
The announcement caused stock prices to improve dramatically after days of losses.
