Boston Mayor Michelle Wu says she will do whatever she can to help bring a WNBA team to the city.
Wu yesterday said the prospect of a pro women's basketball team coming to Boston is exciting, but it's hardly a done deal.
She says decisions of franchise location are made exclusively by the WNBA, and she stands ready to help to do anything possible to help welcome the league to Boston.
Meantime, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont says there is great interest from the business community to keep the team in the state.
The Governor says that the proposed deal would keep the team in the state and move them to Hartford.
Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca is in talks to buy the Connecticut Sun for 325 million dollars with the goal of moving the team to Boston.
