Two men are pleading guilty to charges stemming from an assault in Franklin County last year that was found to be a hate crime.
Prosecutors say 31-year-old Warren Martinez and 25-year-old Thomas Patnode attacked a transgender liquor store employee and her fiance after she refused to sell to them last year.
Authorities said both men used a homophobic slur during the assault.
Patnode was sentenced to two-and-a-half years behind bars, while Martinez faces up to ten years in prison.
