A six-month moratorium on retail sales of recreational marijuana is being enacted in Springfield.
City Council approved the move last night to give the city more time to draft regulations.
The moratorium could end earlier if city officials come up with a plan before the six-month period ends.
Possessing marijuana became legal in Massachusetts in December, and the moratorium won't affect that.
