Democrat Jay Gonzalez is officially a candidate for governor of Massachusetts.
Gonzalez is a former top official in the administration of Deval Patrick when he was governor.
He plans to try and link Governor Charlie Baker to President Donald Trump, saying the state's governor needs to stand up to him.
Gonzalez becomes the first person to formally announce plans to challenge Baker, who is expected to seek a second term next year.
