More Charter Schools Headed To The State

New charter schools are coming to  Western Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts board of Elementary and  Secondary Education approved three new schools on Monday -- the Hampden  Charter School of Science in Westfield in 2018, the Old Sturbridge  Academy Charter Public School this fall, and a location in Plymouth.

The Westfield charter school will initially enroll just over 250  students from grades six to nine from Agawam, Holyoke, Westfield and  West Springfield, but will eventually grow to serve more than double that enrollment and expand to include tenth, eleventh and 12th graders.
