Springfield Might Lose Bus Stops

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority  is considering eliminating a large number of bus stops.

The PVTA could cut half of the current 800-plus stops, with officials  saying there are too many in Springfield right now.

Some stops are only  400 feet apart.

Mary McInness the head of the PVTA and says since the bus stops are so close to one will know the difference.  And she says it could open up as many as a thousand more parking spaces in Springfield.

No final decisions have been made.
