The State Fire Marshal continues to investigate a fatal fire in Warwick, in Franklin County which claimed the lives of a mother and four children this weekend.
Fire Chief Ron Gates says they couldn’t do anything different to save the victims. The house was too far gown. Two members of the family were able to escape the 405 Richmond Road blaze. Firefighters were further hampered by the frigid temperatures and the fact that Warwick -- a small community in Franklin County on the Vermont line, has no hydrants. The Fire Marshal says that it is believed right now that the fire started in the kitchen with a wood stove but that they are investigating other causes as well.
