4 Senior Centers Lost - One Big One Gained

Springfield officials are predicting the closure of four neighborhood senior centers because of one new one.

The construction of the nearly 13-million-dollar Raymond Jordan senior center in Blunt Park is ongoing and is expected to be done by the fall.

It was announced during a budget hearing on Tuesday that a preliminary consolidation plan calls for closing the Pine Point, Mason Square, Forest Park Manor and Mayflower centers.

Three other neighborhood centers will remain open.
