Trump Story Released By Maddow At MSNBC

Northampton's MSNBC's Rachel Maddow is getting a ribbing for her build-up to revealing a portion of President Trump's tax information.

Maddow teased the release of leaked tax documents from 2005 ahead of her show, but gave an extended monologue for the first 20 minutes about their significance.

Twitter had fun with the long-winded lead up, with many wondering why she waited so long to get to the big news.

Some even compared it to Geraldo Rivera's dramatic build-up before revealing an empty Al Capone's vault.

The White House even got ahead of the revelation by putting out a statement saying Trump paid 38-million-dollars in taxes on more than 150-million in income in 2005.

That allowed nearly every other news outlet to break the news before Maddow herself was able to get to it.

The two pages of returns released show that on an income of 150 million dollars, Trump paid a total of about 38 million dollars worth of tax plus what he paid in state and employment taxes.
