DA Decides Whether Murder Case Will Be Retried

A mistrial is being declared in the Springfield murder case against Raymond Collazo.

He was accused of killing his five-month-old son Davian in December 2010 by violently shaking him and then leaving the infant alone for hours to die from a deadly brain injury.

The jury found Collazo not guilty of assault and battery charges on Tuesday, but was unable to reach a verdict on the murder charge after reporting it was deadlocked last week.

The Hampden District Attorney's Office will decide if it wants to retry the case.
