Dictionary maker Merriam-Webster is trolling United Airlines over a viral video of a passenger being forcibly removed from a flight.
Merriam-Webster said lookups for the word "volunteer" jumped 19-hundred percent after United explained the incident by saying that the passenger was removed after the crew "looked for volunteers" on an overbooked flight.
The video that went viral shows police literally dragging the screaming passenger off the plane at Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Merriam-Webster noted both on Twitter and its website that a "volunteer" is defined as "someone who does something without being forced to do it."
