Malloy Says No To Third Term

Governor Dan Malloy is not seeking reelection in 2018.  Malloy announced yesterday that he's not going to be a candidate for a third term in office.

An emotional Malloy  stood with his wife, one of his sons and Lieutenant Governor Nancy  Wyman as he made the announcement yesterday at the State Capitol.

Malloy says he will now turn his full attention to implementing his vision for a more sustainable and vibrant Connecticut economy.

Malloy said he made the announcement earlier than expected because he wanted the media to run the story through the weekend and then he could return to work to govern.
