It's Patriots Day in Massachusetts, commemorating the first battles of the Revolutionary War in 1775.
However, this year the battles in the city are taking place in the sporting arena, starting with the 121st running of the Boston Marathon.
The Red Sox are also playing Tampa Bay at Fenway Park today, with first pitch at eleven a.m.
Then tonight, the Boston Bruins take to the ice at the TD Center for playoff hockey, with their first round series with Ottawa tied at one game apiece.
