A nine-year-old Boston boy is recovering after he was struck in the chest with a baseball and his heart apparently stopped.
The child was pitching during a game at Ryan Playground in Charlestown yesterday when a batted ball struck him. Paramedics used a defibrillator and a breathing tube to bring the child back to life.
The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was in critical condition last night.
