POTUS Tweet: "They Disrespected China- Bad"

Senator Ed Markey is reiterating his call for negotiations with North Korea.

The Massachusetts  Democrat says he welcomes Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's comment  that direct negotiations is the only way to eliminate the threat of  North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

Markey also cautions that  President Trump's comment about a "major conflict" needlessly raises  tensions on the Korean Peninsula and increases the risks of an  accidental war.

Meantime, President Trump is responding to North  Korea's latest missile test.

The President tweeted, "North Korea  disrespected the wishes of China and it's highly respected President  when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!"

U.S.  officials confirmed North Korea launched a medium-range missile early  Saturday.

It exploded shortly after take off about 20 miles from the  launch site.

The White House released a brief statement saying, "The  administration is aware of the most recent North Korean missile test.   The President has been briefed."
