State May Open Clinics for Drug Users

The Massachusetts Medical Society is  throwing their support behind a proposal to open clinics for drug  users.

The society has approved a resolution that urges the state to  establish a pilot program that creates two clinics.

The group says  evidence shows that such facilities decrease drug use and the amount of  drug paraphernalia found in city streets.

They also say there is no  evidence that the clinics lead to increased rates of drug addiction.
